Ormskirk Code Club Meeting

We are a fully inclusive club and enroll young people aged 9-16.

Each year we focus on different aspects of coding and introduce our young members to other aspects of technology too. To-date we have looked at:

  • Coding Raspberry Pis with Python
  • Coding Arduinos with C
  • Coding BBC micro:bits with blocks
  • Coding websites with HTML

In addition to coding we have introduced Ormskirk Code Club members to electronics; building electronic circuits that can be controlled using software. This is a much sought-after skill as it how the electronics industry is developing.

2023-24’s focus

Our focus for the 2023-24 year will be two fold.

Our newer members will be looking at building and controlling electronic circuits using the C programming language using an Arduino.

Our older and more experienced members will undertaking advanced coding projects to develop games cartridges that can be used in a local technology project that will be exhibited and take centre stage at next year’s Liverpool Makefest.

No experience required

Our newer members need have no experience of coding or electronics to join and have fun with some of the latest technology available. We have a high volunteer to member ratio which means that your child will receive all the help they need to engage and enjoy their time with us.
