Logical thinking

Logical thinkers analyse a situation, or a problem, and develop potential solutions. This the job of programmers and electronic engineers. Everything they do solves a problem, makes a task easier, speeds up a process. They are the ultimate logical thinkers; assessing facts, working through a sequence of steps and applying reasoning skills.

They’re a bit like chess players; analysing the current situation and possible permutations of various possible moves to try and outwit their opponent.

Throughout the 2023-24 Ormskirk Code Club year our young members will be introduced to various aspects of coding and electronics. During each session they will have the opportunity to build on what they have learned and complete extension tasks that will require them to solve a problem, improve on a current design, or use those skills in a completely different scenario.

Even if our members don’t follow a career in coding or electronics, the logical thinking skills they deploy throughout the year can be built upon through further education and be deployed in employment. Every organisation needs logical thinkers.
